About

We are a non-auditioned, mixed-voice choir serving the 2SLGBTQ+ community of Kingston, located on the lands of the Haudenosaunee, Anishinaabe, and Huron-wendat peoples.

Founded in September 2023, Spectrum Voices is a not-for-profit choir offering programming by donation to the 2SLGBTQ+ and allied community of Kingston, Ontario. We are happy to welcome in new members any time of year, with our season spanning from September to June. All experiences are welcome, with many members returning to choir afters years away from singing in an ensemble. Spectrum Voices has performed at events such as Spring Into Summer hosted by Utilities Kingston, Kingston Pride, and Trans Day of Remembrance.

Meet the Team

Founder, facilitator

Ren Challacombe, they/them

Ren is the founder and conductor of Spectrum Voices. They hold a Masters in Community Music and are currently enrolled as a PhD student in the Queen's Faculty of Education. Ren is also a choral arranger and their arrangements can be purchased here.

Ari Bautista, they/she

Ari is a staple in Kingston's music community. Aside from working as an accompanist, they are a private music teacher, multi-instrumentalist, and singer songwriter performing under the name ATIARI. To learn more, visit their website.
